About The Poster: This is a small size soccer poster for a match between the Valencia Football club and Real Madrid. The Mestalla Stadium, home to the club Valencia, opened on May 20 of 1923 with a friendly match between Valencia and Levante. Being almost a century old, the stadium has quite a history, during the civil war it was used partly as a storage warehouse. After that the renovation of the 1950's increased the capacity from 17,000 at the opening to 45, 500 thousands. After the severe damage the location endured during the flood of 1957, the stadium was restored and reopened in 1959 for the Fallas festivals. Later in the 20th century, it became the national team stadium for the World Cup of 1982 and the Olympics of 1992. More recently, the stadium welcomed the famous rivalry of Real Madrid and FC Barcelone in the Copa del Rey finals of 2011 and 2014.
