Original Poster produced by Adidas for the 1968 Mexico Olympics. This is a vintage poster and not a reproduction. The Fosbury Flop is a style used in the athletics event of high jump. It was popularized and perfected by American athlete Dick Fosbury, whose gold medal in the 1968 Summer Olympics brought it to the world's attention. Over the next few years, the flop became the dominant style of the event and remains so today. Adidas, started in the early 1920s by a man named Adolf Dassler (in his mother's basement, no less) is an enormous German-based multinational sportswear conglomerate. Although it is a popular urban myth that the name is an acronym for All Day I Dream About Sports, that phrase is a formed from "Adi" (a nickname for Adolf) and "Das" (from "Dassler"). Poster is unlined and in good condition, ruffles in the image which will come out when the poster is framed. From a private collection.
