About The Poster: The SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer français; "French National Railway Corporation"), is France's national state-owned railway company. Begun in 1938, it used posters from its inception to advertise the multitude of destinations which were served by its rail-lines. Designed by Ondine Maynard-Vlach, this poster advertises the town of Bourbon l'Archambault. Famous for its thermal springs and spa treatments, this centrally located town in the region of Auvergne remains a popular tourist destination to this day.
