This is a vintage poster advertising Mosellan beer - that is, beer made in Moselle, a department in Lorraine to the east of France. It is named after the river Moselle, a tributary of the Rhine, which flows through the western part of the department. Lorraine has long been a land of breweries. In fact, in Alsace-Lorraine alone 70,000,000 liters of beer was consumed in 1885, and 180,000,000 liters in 1907! Today, the brewery of Champigneulles is the last industrial brewery in the Lorraine region. However, the production of artisan beer is expanding with 26 microbreweries and craft breweries as of 2012.
This Art Deco poster is bright, colorful, and cheery - perfect to brighten any kitchen, man cave, or even restaurant!
It is in great condition and its folds will flatten out once framed.
