This map was created by the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique (General Transatlantic Company) in collaboration with French colonial government in North Africa.
The Compagnie Generale Transatlatinque was founded in 1861 and was known overseas as the "French Line". In its present iteration, it is known as "CMA CGM S.A.," and it is the third largest container company in the world.
The vintage map shows North Africa in detail, focusing specifically on its developed road network and its bustling ports with regular ferry services to France. This piece is was recently linen backed and is in great condition.
