About The Poster: Bieres Laubenheimer, original antique lithographic poster by Georges Ripart. This beer comes from the midieval city of Nérac, in southwest France. (Where you will find Chateau-Musee Henri IV).
Here we find beloved King Henry IV on his famous white horse. He is promoting Laubenheimer, an obscure southwestern French beer. This king's image has been used to advertise everything from chocolate to bouillon cubes, from liquor to bikes and back again. Using his image to promote a French product is more than intelligent niche marketing; it's a grand tradition. (Rennert)
About the Artist: Georges Ripart was a French illustrator and graphic artist. Admitted to the Societé des Artistes Francaises in 1909, he received an honorable mention for his work from that society.
