Date: 1907 This poster is the front cover of the 1907 June edition of the Good Literature magazine. This charming print celebrates the summer season with a beautiful floral pattern surrounding a merry couple at the centre of the page. The Henry Altemus website writes: "This monthly periodical came into existence in 1892. It also was a large tabloid. Good Literature was 11 x 16. The circulation was as high as 363,000 in 1902. The magazines were reprinted numerous times using the original publication date. Thus the actual date of publication can be estimated by looking at Lupton's address. In 1910 it was merged into People's Home Journal. The F. M. Lupton Publishing Company was one of a myriad of houses that published numerous reprints of older works in a multitude of series. These series were distinguished from each other by different decorative covers. Lupton published series both in paperback and hardcover. Most of the hardcover series contained reprints of popular works. Among the titles and authors were Alice in Wonderland, Doyle's A Study in Scarlet, reprints of Charles Dickens, Henty and Shakespeare." This original poster is lined and in excellent condition, ready to be framed.
