About the Poster: A lovely, oversize Belgian poster for a festival in Mechelen, a city roughly halfway between Brussels and Antwerp. Mechelen is a city with a proud history of arts and culture which began during the Northern Renaissance and continues today.
Obscure Belgian trivia: According to our buddies at Wikipedia, "Most cities in Flanders have a mock name for their inhabitants. Since 1687, for their heroic attempt to fight the fire high up in the Saint-Rumbold's Tower, where the gothic windows had shown the flaring of only the moon between clouds, Mechlinians have been called Maneblussers (moon extinguishers)."
This lovely poster is linen backed and in excellent condition. Rare and lovely, it is ready to frame.
