About Mimmo Paladino: Mimmo Paladino was born in Paduli in southern Italy in 1948. A prolific sculptor, painter and printmaker, he studied at the Liceo Artistico in Benevento between 1964 and 1968. His first solo exhibition was held at the Studio Oggetto, Caserta in 1969. Paladino gained international recognition in 1980 when he participated in the Aperto '80 at the Venice Biennale with Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi and Nicola De Maria, central figures of the Transavantgarde movement.
