About the Poster: This poster advertises the 1954 edition of the Foire de Paris (Paris Fair), which is a salon-type fair held annually in Paris. The fair has been taking place since 1904 and since 1923 has been held at the exhibition grounds of the Porte de Versailles in Paris.
The Foire always takes place around the end of April and lasts just over a week. These types of fairs trace their origins to colonial exhibitions and world fairs during which an Empire (such as France) could demonstrate to the world their colonial exploits and resources.
Signed in the lithographic plate by Solon, this poster is in very good condition and is ready to frame.
