Artist: Schlote, Wilhelm
He became known mainly through his thematic, large-format posters, where he tells stories with his characteristic stick figures and jokes. Be it cities or themes, Wilhelm Schlote creates posters with lovingly poetic charm.
This poster, in particular, was created for the Rheingau district. Translated as "Rhine District", it is located on the Northern side of the Rhine between the German towns of Wiesbaden and Lorch near Frankfurt. It is famous for Rheingau wines, especially the "Rheingauer Riesling," and its many taverns.
Schlote's children's illustration-like poster would look fantastic in a nursery or child's bedroom. Unlined and in excellent condition.
