About The Poster: Cigarette companies have always been able to afford to spend a great deal of money on advertising their products. We aren't quite sure if this handsome Middle Eastern man is threatening you to smoke or enticing you, but either way, he is certainly compelling. Originally established in 1705, Cruwell often used 'natives' in their advertising posters: another one which we have had in the past featured Native American man in a head-dress smoking a peace pipe.
Again, we aren't quite sure of the connection with tobacco, but, if the aim was to create advertising which was memorable, we think they achieved their goals.
Poster is in very good condition and ready to frame.
