About the poster:
This poster was published between 1919 and 1922 in "Les feuillets d'art", a French magazine specialized in the field of art publishing. This board, printed in black and white and then stencilled, promotes petroleum-based hair products by Pétrole Hahn.
Pétrole Hahn is a French hair care brand whose origins date back to 1885, when the Swiss pharmacist Charles Hahn created a lotion designed to reduce hair loss. The brand was later developed industrially in Lyon by François Vibert from 1896 onward and achieved great success due to its strong advertising strategy. The company invested in the production of illustrated posters, as well as advertisements in the press and promotional items, to strengthen brand awareness. During the 20th century, its products were distributed in many countries and became a leading name in hair care, enjoying particular popularity during the interwar period.
