About the artist: Henning Wagenbreth (b. 1962) is internationally known for his expressive visual language and the diversity of his practice, which spans graphic design, illustration, comics, music, and experimental projects. Alongside his work as an independent graphic designer and illustrator, he has been a Professor of Visual Communication at the Universität der Künste Berlin since 1994. In 2000, the German Stiftung Buchkunst honoured him with its award for the “World’s Most Beautiful Book,” and his poster designs have continued to receive numerous awards. Wagenbreth has presented his work in exhibitions in Berlin, Paris, New York, Istanbul, Lucerne, Naples, and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
This poster was originally created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Haus Schwarzenberg. Haus Schwarzenberg is a unique cultural space in Berlin, bringing together history, art, creativity, and independent culture. It encompasses artists’ studios, galleries, an arthouse cinema, memorials and a bar within a distinctive historic building.
